NetherRealm Studios join the growing list of developers to discover that PC gamers exist and buy games. Co-creator of Mortal Kombat Ed Boon responded to a question on Twitter about sales of Mortal Kombat 9, saying that they were “way, way above expectations.”

Mortal Kombat 9 was only ported to PC last month, having released on consoles back in 2011. This port was something of an experiment to see if there was a taste for fighters on the PC. Let’s hope that its success will convince other developers to make the jump to PC.
Particularly when you have the likes of Tekken’s Katsuhiro Harada saying that fighting games don’t sell on the PC without actually testing the market:
