Murdered: Soul Suspect thinks it’s so punny, has an ‘announcement’ trailer

You’ve been murdered. Look, I’m terribly sorry, but that’s just how it is. You’ve been deaded, and now rather than getting the peaceful rest popular remembrance suggests you’re entitled to, you’re going to have to solve your own killing yourself. The living, eh? Can’t live with ‘em. On account of your current ectoplasmic status. Again, sorry.

Here’s a little insight into the sort of thing you’re going to be doing post-life, courtesy of Square Enix.

I say Square Enix, because we still don’t have the foggiest which of the publisher’s pet studios are behind this new series – though the heaviest bags of grain up at the rumour mill are marked ‘Eidos Montreal’ and ‘Crystal Dynamics’, them of the new Deus Ex and the new Tomb Raider respectively.

So then: a lanky, sweary protagonist and a premise which promises Ghost Trick in 3D but surely plays more like Alan Wake. Those hands might pass right through that hooded villain now, but you can bet you’ll find some reason to swing a punch at him before the end.

Still: it’s braver fare than most of its stablemates. What say you to a spot of ghostly investigative work?
