Mutant Football League heading to PC

Mutant League Football PC

A Unity-built reboot of the 1993 full contact American footballer for the Sega Mega Drive/ Master System, Mutant Football League is heading to PC. The original game was built in the Madden ’93 engine and added land mines, fire pits, monsters and mutants to the popular American sport.

To be completely honest, these additions would probably get me interested in sports that don’t involve people punching each other in the face – they’re my favourite.

The reboot offers four-player multiplayer, both local and online, so games have the potential to be frantic, with bits of players detaching as you run towards to opposition’s goal.

I have quite fond memories of Blood Bowl, which was a similar concept and popular around the same time, despite not having much of an interest in the sport itself. If it can create the same appeal, it could be a good laugh – especially with friends.

Digital Dreams Entertainment have released some pre-alpha footage, so you check out the sort of carnage they have planned. The footage, which contains both mutants and football that isn’t real football, is below.
