It’s been a decade since the original Gears of War launched and now the fourth major installment in the gritty third-person action franchise, Gears of War 4, is hitting PC this week. The hotly anticipated sequel introduces myriad reasons to get excited about more Gears action including a gripping new storyline set 25 years after Gears of War 3, a slew of all-new gameplay features and enhancements and lusciously detailed visuals that take advantage of modern gaming hardware.
In Gears of War 4, humanity is starting to pick up the pieces after the eradication of the Locust and the epic conclusion of Gears of War 3. Serra, however, is now constantly hammered by violent storms and humans are being taken by a new enemy known as the Swarm. Humanity’s ultimate fate lies in the hands of J.D Fenix, Gears of War 4’s new protagonist and son of Marcus Fenix and Anya Stroud. He’s joined in the new game by his partner Del Walker and friend Kait Diaz.
The PC edition of Gears of War 4 is a feast for the senses, especially on a powerful gaming rig. It features support for 4K ultra high-definition displays and 21:9 resolutions. Additionally, the game supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and is bolstered by technologies including Ambient Occlusion (AO), Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA), Capsule Shadow Quality, Lighting Texture Detail, Texture Filtering and more high-end graphical features.
