Oculus VR has confirmed that it’s working on about two dozen games, which will be exclusive to their Oculus Rift virtual reality device. CEO Brendan Iribe has said that these games are being fully funded by its own Oculus Studios, which includes games like Insomniac’s Edge of Nowhere.
Want to know if any of them make the cut? These are the best VR games on PC.
In an interview with Gamasutra at this year’s E3, Oculus VR CEO, Brenden Iribe announced that there are around two dozen titles in the works, which will all be exclusive to their platform in exchange for full funding. Other VR developers can also take part in the Oculus Studios program to pitch their ideas.
Oculus VR also has made several smaller investments in VR games, which don’t share exclusivity with the Oculus Rift to play, totalling $10 million dollars.
With other platforms on the rise, such as Valve’s HTC Vive, it will be interesting to see if Valve offer exclusive games too. What’s your take – do you feel it could splinter and divide the community, or will the funding opportunities allow for a more diverse selection of VR games?
