If you’re a baseball fan then you should already know that the Out of the Park Baseball series is where it’s at – at least when it comes to management games. It’s officially licensed by MLB.com and the MLBPA, and last year’s entry in the series ended up as Metacritic’s PC Game of the Year 2016.
This year saw the arrival of Out of the Park Baseball 18, and with it a new Challenge game mode, new tournaments, new Fall Leagues and Negro Leagues, and an improved 3D mode and highlight game reels.
That’s all built upon the solid foundations of the series, and does of course include the new 2017 MLB roster set, which goes from the minor league all the way down to rookie leagues and future draft classes. That means you can start a new career as the manager of your favourite 2017 MLB team.
However, you can also play through almost 150 years of baseball history and oversee any team from the past. Or, if you’d prefer, you can make your own team – your own dream team, perhaps. Then, when you’re done with the single-player offering, test your skills online against other players.
