Blizzard aren’t looking to play favourites in the Overwatch League. While established teams will be considered to take part in the league, leaderboard standouts will be considered from the game’s 30-million-strong playerbase.

Here’s everything we know about the Overwatch League

These players are considered “free agents” by Blizzard and they won’t be overlooked. Blizzard want to create the best league possible, while also discovering fresh talent in the process.

The official player signing window for Season 1 opens from August 1 to October 30, 2017. In this time, the announced teams can fill their rosters and sign players.

If you are signed, Blizzard promise a host of benefits. For starters, you get a guaranteed year-long contract, with the option of extending it for a year if you wish. You get a minimum $50,000 salary. You get health insurance, a retirement savings plan, and you also get a share of team performance bonuses.
