The promised day is today: the Payday 2 live action web series is finally here, with episode one available to watch right now. It’s everything you’d expect and want: masks, guns, muffled voices and terrified bank employees.
Directed by Demian Lichtenstein – the man behind 3000 Miles to Graceland and five other films you’ve probably never heard of – the multi-part series will show a new episode every two weeks in the lead up to the game’s August release date. Lichtenstein said of his work on the series “The PAYDAY web series has been a solid and very close collaboration between all parties involved. I have never experienced such a high level of commitment to excellence from PAYDAY creators Bo and Ulf Andersson, to the rock-solid input of game director David Goldfarb, and the combined efforts of the powerhouse global teams at 505 Games, Starbreeze, Overkill, Solaris, Equilibrium and Lightstone. In typical multi-episode style, this first bite of the action ends when it all gets good, so you’ll have to wait a fortnight to find out who lives, who dies, who gets the money, and who will take command of the Iron Throne. Well, perhaps not that last one.
