PC Gaming alive and kicking at Rezzed game show

Our pals, nay, our bosom buddies over at RockPaperShotgun and Eurogamer are curating a fantastic-sounding event over in Brighton, UK. It’s going to have all the biggest games on PC, as well as an Indie section that knocks six colours of crap out of anything anywhere else in the world. And if that’s all boring, you can roll your trouser legs up and play the traditional Sussex game of “eating candy floss without getting dive-bombed by seagulls.”

Just look at this line-up: Borderlands 2, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon Online, Shootmania: Storm, Serious Sam 3, Sniper Elite V2, Tera, Xcom, Enemy Unknown and something described as “the future ofTotal War…”

And there’s the Indie games, which are much more impressive: Introversion’s dark Prison Architect, Born Ready’s throwback Strike Suit Zero, Borderlands-meets-Diablo Krater, Raiderz, WarMage Battlegrounds, Xenonauts.. and many more in the Leftfield Collection, curated by Tom Bramwell of Eurogamer.

Finally, there are talks galore from Creative Assembly, Stainless Games (Carmeggeddon), Introversion, Splash Damage and Firaxis. Then there’s a board game area, where the RockPaperShotgun chapswill doubtless be hanging out.

Sure, Brighton is the arse-end of nowhere (says the Mancunian), but it’s an attractive city with a welcoming culture and some astounding shops and restaurants. For gamers, it’s also got a huge selection of Old Man’s Pubs, to go and gripe about the latest iteration of your favourite franchises.

Rezzed takes place at the Brighton Centre on sunny Brighton seafront on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July. Tickets are £12 for one day or £20 for both and are available, along with more information on location, travel, etc, at www.rezzed.com.
