Planetside 2 EU accounts hacked, some suspended “for security reasons”

The story never changes, though the game names vary. Another hive of juicy account data has been cracked open by another set of tedious individuals, and email addresses and passwords may have been glimpsed. Thankfully, Planetside 2 EU server custodians ProSiebenSat.1 have taken “all necessary actions” to put things straight.

“Your account data is encrypted with us for your security,” write the ProSiebenSat.1 games team in a blog post. “Nevertheless, we have decided to take preventative measures in order to ensure the highest degree of security.”

If your account is among the potentially hacked, you will already have received an email in the last day to request a change in password. Furthermore, some players will find they are unable to log in due to account suspension, “for security reasons”. If that’s you, you’ll want to reactivate your account with a new password over here.

The ProSiebenSat lot believe they caught the break-in early, but acknowledge that the possibility of breached email address and password data “cannot be excluded”.

Are you among the (dis)affected? Or are you one of the many EU players who’ve made SOE’s US servers their abode?
