Portal 2 is getting a lovely community made mod by Prism Studios, dubbed “Portal Stories: Mel”. It’ll feature 20 unique levels, as well as a new protagonist and an original story, that tries to fill the gap between Portal and Portal 2.

If you haven’t figured it out already, the protagonist this time around is called Mel. After being asleep for an unknown number of years, Mel will be tasked with escaping the facility and go head-to-head against a “new, still unknown threat”. She’ll be helped by a brand new personality core too.
The mod will also feature a 70s rendition of the iconic Portal gun, completely overhauled textures, models and animations, while still trying to implode your mind with increasingly “logic-based” puzzles.
But the best part? The mod will be 100% free to all those who own Portal 2, and it’s due out sometime in the first quarter of this year.
