Just like in real life, if your staff in Prison Architect think you're treating them unfairly, they're now able to go on strike.

This is just one of several changes in the latest Prison Architect update, which focuses heavily on staff behavior.
If morale falls to 0%, your staff will demand a rather large pay raise to come back to work from strike. They'll also take more breaks when they feel it's necessary, require pay raises in certain situations, and have different needs according to their in-game roles.
If you've been skating by and treating your staff with only a modicum of respect, you might consider changing your ways in Prison Architect, lest you be faced with a mutinous crew going forward. And no one wants to have to deal with that.
