Rage 2 system requirements only ask for 8GB of RAM and a GTX 780

rage 2 system requirements

We’re less than two weeks out from the release of Bethesda’s latest open-world adventure, and now the developer has been kind enough to bless us with the Rage 2 system requirements. With only 11 days left before you can get your hands on the game, now is as good a time as any to check that your PC is up to the challenge.

If you’re not caught up with Rage 2, it’s a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter, in which your character, Walker must attempt to bring justice to a world ruined by an asteroid strike. During my Rage 2 preview, I found some pretty impressive combat – thanks in no small part to Walker’s impressive arsenal of weapons and abilities – but an open-world that felt just a little empty.

Bethesda support posted the game’s system requirements earlier this week, and, as is relatively standard fare, both minimum and recommended system requirements are on offer. Given how ambitious the game’s open world and some of its combat seems to be, I’d suggest that opting for minimum specs is a bold call, but that’s up to you.

Without further ado, you can check out the Rage 2 system requirements below, or get a more in-depth look at our sister-site, the System Requirements Lab.

Rage 2 minimum requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or AMD R9 280 3GB
  • Storage: 50GB available space

Rage 2 recommended requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Vega 56 8GB
  • Storage: 50GB available space

While all of those graphics cards should get you running ok (in 720p, at least), players are already voicing uncertainty about the 8GB of RAM. It’s probably better to play it safe when it comes to things like this, so while these requirements might get you over the line, perhaps an upgrade to 16GB isn’t the worst idea.

You’ll be able to head into Avalanche and Bethesda’s latest post apocalypse in about ten days’ time – the Rage 2 release date is May 14. Before then, you can check out some recent Rage 2 gameplay, or take a look at Rage 2 Nanotrites to get to grips with Walker’s powers ahead of time.
