According to reports on the official World of Warcraft forums and other communities, disgruntled WoW players are bringing down Blizzard’s servers by use of a simple script. Crashes have plagued the World of Warcraft community in the last day – with servers repeatedly going offline.
We’ve managed to track down the exploit, which was posted to a popular WoW
hacking website, and can confirm that it’s extremely simple to use. The
WoW community have reported being disconnected as often as twice a
minute because of this hack.
The hack’s creator justified their actions by stating that “Blizzard made me angry.”
Multiple postings on the official World of Warcraft forums and on reddit suggest this attack is a widespread issue.
Only moments ago Blizzard applied a hotfix which will hopefully address the issue. We’ll keep you updated.
