Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days encourages us to rewind and re-load in new gameplay trailer

Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days gameplay trailer Big Star Games Liam Patton

Big Star Games just treated us to our first extended look at their new Tarantino-inspired top-down shooter, Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days. The title, which comes out on May 18, mixes a cartoony art-style with a surreal blend of over-the-top violence and time-based gameplay mechanics.

Fancy some vintage gaming to go with this ’90s vibe? Check out our list of the best old games on PC.

Bloody Days will take turn-based mechanics and give them a real-time twist, inviting players to control one character over a few seconds of gameplay, before rewinding time and moving on to another. In this way, you can play co-op with yourself, taking each character’s turn and then watching them unfold in real-time. Unfortunately, there’s no Steve Buscemi or Harvey Keitel to kick some ass with, as the game doesn’t contain the original cast of the movie, despite using the characters’ names. Not to worry though, as CEO of Big Star Games Liam Patton assures us that the IP is in good hands. “As huge fans of Reservoir Dogs” he begins, “we’re very focused on creating a highly addictive experience that stays true to the tense, dramatic vibe of this unforgettable movie.”

Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days will be heisting its way onto hard drives on May 18, after which there will be a streaming contest, with free Steam codes available for participating viewers. Head on over to the Steam store for more info.
