Rise of the Tomb Raider trailer gives us more of everything

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider reboot was rather well received, but most people agreed on the fact that it needed more tombs and more options when it came to exploring. Rise of the Tomb Raider seems to be addressing those criticisms, and this new trailer is determined to show that.

The trailer is filled with more of everything that made the first game what it was, but there’s an emphasis on the various tombs. Each features the strange and bizarre contraptions we’ve come to expect from classic Tomb Raider. Giant metal systems with gears and pulleys, golden artifacts with ornate detail, and collapsing rock formations determined to crush us. Oh, and just a few dozen angry natives with flaming bows and arrows.

It looks like tombs will feature more elaborate designs and puzzles this time around, which is exactly what is needed after the last game’s tiny caves.

The trailer also shows off a lot of Lara’s new grappling hook, which adds a little more excitement to moving around. It’ll surely come in useful for all the times she has to run away from something.

Rise of the Tomb Raider releases sometime in 2016, or November 10th if you want to be a PC traitor and pick it up on Xbox One.
