The Monty Python Sisyphus simulator returns with a level creator in Rock of Ages 3

Yes, they're making Rock of Ages 3, somehow

Rock of Ages remains one of the most bizarrely endearing games to come out of the indie scene, and it’s been successful enough to now justify two sequels. Yes, a third title in the series is rolling our way in Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, and as the title implies the big new feature this time around is a level creator.

The level tools will let you build whatever sorts of courses you want, share them online, and play the stages other folks have constructed. All we’ve really got right now is a quick bit of footage in the trailer, but it looks like a simple tool that’ll nonetheless offer a great deal of options in building challenging courses.

Broadly, it’s still the same mix of tower defense and giant bowling ball destruction that the series is known for, complete with the Monty Python-inspired humour and Terry Gilliam-style animation gags you’d expect. Besides the level creator, you’ll still have story-driven campaign, as well as multiplayer built for four players online or two players in split-screen.

Rock of Ages 3 will launch “early 2020” for $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99. You’ll be able to buy the PC version through Steam, but pre-orders are not yet live.

Check out the game in action through the trailer above.

I’m still astounded that we were lucky enough to get one Rock of Ages sequel, much less two – the gaming world is very generous sometimes.
