Ys Net have revealed the first of a host of new characters coming to Shenmue III. In an announcement post the team offered a first look at the new character while introducing their assisting production team.
Shenmue 3’s release date was delayed, but its director says it’ll be worth the wait.
Ys Net say “Shenmue III will have a host of new, compelling characters from all walks of life,” but that at this point they can’t let on exactly how many that’ll be. The first of those new characters (who you can see above) was shown off in the announcement post, but the developers are keeping quiet, saying “you’ll have to wait and see how she firs in with the temple in the background.” Good news, though, is that she doesn’t seem to have been afflicted by the facial rigor mortis that caused Ryo’s face to freeze in place for Shenmue III’s first trailer.
The team have been working with Indian game art studio Lakshya Digital to bring the new characters to life. Shenmue III is due for release on PC and PS4 some time in the second half of 2018.
