Valve have just announced a new product for budding film makers – the Source Filmmaker. It allows gamers, developers and animators to create their own movies using in-game levels, props and animations.
The beta begins now; and to kick off the creation, Valve are hosting everything you need to recut the original Meet the Heavy short. You can get a key from the official Source Filmmaker site.
There’s the hint, too, that items from the Steam Workshop will be available for filmmakers to bring into their movies.
Basically: cripes. I can’t wait to see what players create, and then upload to the inevitable movie workshop.
