Star Wars Battlefront 2’s latest patch adds new hero ship and Blast map

Star Wars Battlefront 2 heroes Iden Versio

The latest Star Wars Battlefront II patch has gone live. The update adds Iden Versio’s TIE fighter to the roster of hero ships available in Starfighter Assault multiplayer matches, as well as a new Blast map for the planet Crait.

Iden Versio’s TIE fighter abilities include a temporary speed boost called Afterburner, capable of breaking missile lock-ons; a rapid fire barrage called Laser Barrage; and Inferno Leader, an ability that reveals all enemies within a certain radius to ally players and increases their vulnerability to damage.

Alongside these additions, a much-needed nerf has been applied to the Wookiee Warrior unit, lessening the strength and range of the Wookiee’s Bowcaster weapon. This change comes as no surprise, as last week, Star Wars Battlefront II’s leading creative director Dennis Brännvall‏ announced, via Twitter, a nerf for the Wookiees was coming after receiving messages from players angered by the overpowered creatures.

In the patch notes, the Battlefront team also revealed this is “just the first of many exciting updates in store,” as they have “been digging into fan feedback and bug reports to make some fixes and balancing tweaks.”
