Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order system requirements are out now

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

October 9, 2019 The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order system requirements have been updated on the Origin store. The game no longer recommends 32GB of system memory, instead settling for a far more reasonable 16GB.

The recommended specs for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are now up on the Origin store. The system considerations for Respawn Entertainment’s latest action-adventure are moderate for the most part – you only really need an Nvidia GTX 650 or better to hit minimum specs – but the listed 32GB of system memory required for “recommended requirements” knocked a few PC builders off their feet at first.

The 32GB memory requirement has since been replaced with the usual 16GB fare instead. As for the rest, Respawn Entertainment is recommending an eight-core Ryzen 7 1700 as the CPU of choice. Lucky for most you’ll only need a four-core Intel chip for the rec spec, but even that’s the best of the best i7 chip from the Skylake generation: the Core i7 6700K.

As for graphical power, you best come prepared. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order reportedly prefers a rig of mid- to high-end GPU gusto, such as the RX Vega 56 or GTX 1070 – although the limited edition Nvidia Titan Xp graphics cards of yesteryear would be our preferred option. That does mean that the most popular GPU currently in the market, the GTX 1060, falls just shy of the recommended specs.

You can read the complete minimum and recommended specs below, or head over to System Requirements Lab to find out if your PC is up to the task.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7/8.1/10
  • Processor (AMD): FX-6100 or Equivalent
  • Processor (Intel): i3-3220 or Equivalent
  • Memory: 8 GB
  • Graphics card (AMD): Radeon HD 7750 or Equivalent
  • Graphics card (NVIDIA): GeForce GTX 650 or Equivalent
  • DirectX: 11 Compatible video card or equivalent
    Hard-drive space: 55 GB

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7/8.1/10
  • Processor (AMD): Ryzen 7 1700 or Equivalent
  • Processor (Intel): i7-6700K or Equivalent
  • Memory: 32 GB
  • Graphics card (AMD): RX Vega 56 or Equivalent
  • Graphics card (NVIDIA): GTX 1070 or Equivalent
  • DirectX: 11 Compatible video card or equivalent
  • Hard-drive space: 55 GB

As initially suspected, a gaming PC build of such power and esteem was not truly required for the recommended experience in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. A half-decent mainstream build packed with 16GB of memory will do just fine for this Unreal Engine title – especially considering its simultaneous Playstation 4 and Xbox One launch – but we won’t be able to say just how much performance you will be able to eke out of your PC until we can get our hands on a build closer to launch – November 15, 2019.
