Evil Genius’ French Starcraft 2 player Ilyes “Stephano” Sattorui has been suspended without pay till the end of the month after he said “I abused a child yesterday” on a publicly streaming game on Twitch.tv. He claims it was a “private joke” between him and Team Dignitas’ Samayan “BlinG” Kay.

In a match earlier this week, Stephano and BlinG were playing a friendly game of Starcraft 2, streaming it publicly over Twitch.tv. During which this chat was screengrabbed:

Stephano:Sam, I abused a child yesterday
BlinG: hahahaha, what?
Stephano: 14 yo.
BlinG: wtf
BlinG: you fucked a 14 yo?
BlinG: o.O
Stephano: 14yo…
BlinG: hahahahahahahaha

Gamespot are reporting that he went on to say ““I might only be interested in milfs and kids now.”

After receiving complaints about his comments his team managers at Evil Genius provided Gamespot with a statement saying:

“Today, Evil Geniuses announces that French Zerg player Ilyes “Stephano” Satouri has been suspended without pay for the remainder of October, following his recent inappropriate comments. We sincerely apologize to the respective organizers of these tournaments for any inconvenience the last-minute cancellations may cause. That apology, however, obviously comes as secondary to a much more significant and direly-needed apology for Stephano’s inexcusable comments themselves. An apology in his own words can be found at the bottom of this post, but additionally, everyone at Evil Geniuses – including management, players, and staff – would like to sincerely apologize for these comments. They do not reflect our company’s sense of morality, behavior and propriety, and they will not be tolerated.”

Stephano did also apologise, tweeting“I would like to apologize for my conversation with@dignitasBlinGduring his stream. It was just a private joke, nothing serious, sorry !”

Though, he did also tweet later “Some people stupîdity makes me regret/hate my choice on going professional on starcraft. Which makes me play worse and worse.” Which may suggest he has not taken on board his lesson about public and private statements.
