Scared of clowns? Then this free game of Stephen King’s IT isn’t for you

Stephen King's IT free browser game

Not all PR stunts are created equal, let’s face it, but this latest tie-in to the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s IT is pretty cool.

Ain’t afraid of no ghosts? Test your nerve with the best horror games on PC.

To celebrate the pending release, Warner Bros. have created a simple and terrifyingly addictive browser-based 8-bit game in which all you need to do is float the S.S. Georgie through the sewers of Derry, Maine, popping pretty red balloons as you go. Easy, eh?

There are some pesky things to avoid down there, of course, including missing persons posters, abandoned shoes, and inconvenient sewer pipes. Oh, and Pennywise the Clown is down there, too. Yes, he wants to eat you. And no, I’m not going to confirm if Pennywise jumps out for a cheap jump scare… you’ll just have to play it yourself, won’t you?

While we’re on the subject of all things horrifying, Bethesda’s newest trailer for The Evil Within has you sharing The Matrix with a pyscho photographer. So that’s nice.
