Yes, Stormworks is a game about rescuing people off the coast of Scotland, flying out in helicopters, skimming upon hovercraft, steering a boat over the grey seas that lap at the UK’s beaches. But there is more to it than that.
Stormworks also has you design and build your vehicles before you go out in them to perform your heroic deeds. This means you will need to throw some blocks together in a vehicle editor, program a few of them so that they can go forward, accelerate, and steer, and then even share them in the Steam Workshop.
Due to the Steam Workshop support you can also forgo the hard work and download other people’s creations. With lots of missions to take on you may want to rely on the work of others at first just to get an idea of which vehicles are best suited to each mission. Those storms will not hold back after all.
