Update 18 Jul, 2016: Meet Street Fighter V’s first world champion.

Lee ‘Infiltration’ Seonwoo has won out in Street Fighter V’s first worldwide bout, taking the trophy at Evo 2016.

Up for more competitive fun? Here’s some of the best multiplayer games for PC.

The South Korean pro bested Japanese R. Mika player Keita ‘Fuudo’ Ai and the rest of the top eight at the Mandalay Bay events center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over 5000 players had entered to compete in Evo this year, the biggest tournament in Street Fighter history, after just a handful of months with the new game.

Original article 17 Jul, 2016:The SFV tournament has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, with many fan favourites such as Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi taking an early bow, failing to even make the final eight contenders for tonight’s prize.

Of those top eight, South Korea’s Lee “Infiltration” Seon-woo had already proven himself the most dangerous fighter, coming through the winner’s side of the bracket and having previously taken several of SFV’s biggest tournaments since release in March.

You can watch the tournament back on theSRKEvo Twitchchannel to see how Infiltration managed to close out a perfect start to his Capcom Pro Tour.

Matches didn’t start until 7pm PDT/3am BST, so we in the UK took a nap while Marvel and Guilty Gear were on. Marvel/anime fans come at me in the comments.
