Most strategy game fans are plagued by the same problem. Time – there just isn’t enough of it. With a lot of strategy games asking you to dedicate several hours per go it can be refreshing to find one that only wants three to five minutes from you. That’s the deal with Tactical Monsters Rumble Arena.
Its single-player matches are turn-based and take place on hex grids. You select your monsters – ranging from Medusa to the Mummy – each with their own abilities, and head off with them into a tactical battle. As you progress you unlock more monsters so your roster can become stronger and deal with different types of enemies and attacks, but the skill is found in knowing how and when to use them.
Once you think you’ve got a handle on the game, you can then head into its real-time multiplayer, taking on other players from around the world. That’s where the challenges begin proper. The game has online rankings, too, so you have something to aim for – that number one spot.
Tactical Monsters Rumble Arena can also function as a social platform. You can find and add friends, even take them on in 1v1 battles, or form a clan to trade cards. If you do get into a clan you’ll want to build defenses so that enemy raiders don’t steal from you, too.
