Smissmas returns to Team Fortress 2 for another year – the 2017 version of the event went live in a big (150MB) update yesterday. Here’s everything you can get up to over the festive season.

Smissmas 2017 will run until January 10. All players who log in during that period will receive a Stuffed Stocking as a gift, which will contain treats for good little mercenaries. Two new event cases have been added:
The Winter 2017 War Paint Case
- Contains 15 new community-contributed War Paints
- Randomly dropped for players who have activated a Jungle Inferno Campaign Pass
The Winter 2017 Cosmetic Case
- Contains 20 new community-contributed items
- The Festiviser can be found as a bonus drop when opening the case
Six new community-contributed taunts have been added to the Mann Co. store: the Skating Scorcher, Bunnyhopper, Runner’s Rhythm, Luxury Lounge, Surgeon’s Squeezebox, and Trackman’s Touchdown. Many more weapons can also now be Festivised, and War Paints can be used for trade-ups at the Mann Co. store, which is having a winter sale.
Two maps – cp_mercenarypark and cp_watergate – have also received a polish. Finally, there are many bug fixes, an upgrade to your backpack space, a ton of new tournament medals, and more little fiddlings. For full details, check outthe update on the TF2 blog.
