Tekken 7 sold more than 1.6 million copies during Bandai Namco’s Q1

The latest earning report from Bandai Namco reports that Tekken 7 has sold more than 1.6 million units so far this year, following its release in March.

The figures for Q1 2017/18, as reported by Avoiding the Puddle, suggest that Tekken is well on its way to meeting its 2.1 million unit target by the end of the year. The vast majority of the sales so far have been attributed to North American and European markets, with no other territories mentioned in the report.

Future sales are likely to be helped along by the release of two DLC packs for the game. The first of these, which will be released this month, contains the Ultimate Tekken Bowl game mode. The second, containing a new guest character, Geese Howard, is due to be released later this year.

Other points highlighted by Bandai Namco included the growth of online network revenue streams from game apps, social network services and overseas has increased by 130% compared to last year. They also pointed towards new titles for Project Cars and Ace Combat.
