The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a new game in the Life is Strange Universe

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit has just been announced at the Micorosft E3 conference. The game, developed by Dontnod Studios, is set in the Life is Strange universe, following a new male protagonist, a young boy named Chris.

Chris’s story is based around his childlike imagination, and his story takes him to alien planets in his superhero alias Captain Spirit. The trailer, which you can check out below, suggests Chris struggles with popularity at school, and the story may cover the loss of his mother.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm was one of our best PC games of 2017.

It’s not really clear at this point whether the game is considered a sequel to Life is Strange – Dontnod previously stated that Life is Strange 2 would not continue the stories of either Max or Chloe, but this does seem like a significant departure from that story. The trailer also doesn’t mention any episodic release. In fact, the suggestion seems to be that it’ll all be available for free later this month, suggesting it won’t occupy the same structure as Dontno’d previous Life is Strange outing.
