An upcoming patch for The Witcher 3 will patch up your relationship woes

If you haven’t played through The Witcher 3 yet, come back when you’re finished – this news post will contain minor spoilers. If you’re still reading, I’m going to assume you’ve already played one of the year’s best games, or you just went away, played the whole thing, and came back 100 hours later.

Now that’s out of the way, I have an important question for you: Triss or Yennefer?

If your answer was “both”, you likely got punished for your two-timing ways. You’re lucky neither of them noticed your various trips to the game’s brothels either, you filthy wretch. Unsurprisingly, some people weren’t happy with the relationship options in The Witcher 3. More surprisingly, it wasn’t because of what happens when you decide to romance both Triss and Yennefer.

Some fans of the game felt like conversation options with Triss felt under-baked, with the people who romanced Yennefer getting a richer Witcher experience. If you’re one of those people, congratulations – CD Projekt Red have been listening to feedback and a future patch is planned to fix the ‘issue’.

In July, CD Projekt’s Marcin Momot said they will be addressing the feedback, and have recently confirmed a few details to Kotakuwith the following statement:

“We’ll be adding some additional dialogue for Triss and Yennefer in the upcoming patch due to fan feedback. We’ve read many opinions on our forums where gamers weren’t satisfied with the way their romance choices were fleshed out, so we wanted to change that by adding some extra conversational options.”

There’s not date as yet, but hopefully it will be out by the time you can coax yourself into playing through the massive adventure again on New Game+.

Which witch did you romance?
