Don’t worry, Roach will appear in the Netflix Witcher show

The Witcher 3 Geralt

Update, February 27: It looks like more characters are being confirmed, as Hissrich has begun adding to the thread again! We’ve added the latest tweet, describing Villentretenmer, to the bottom of the thread below!

Original story, February 27: It often feels like a reminder of the times we’re in whenever more news of Netflix’s The Witcher TV show comes out. It’s a great time for all media, really, and now we’ve got some more news about the characters who’ll be making appearance in the TV series.

Exactly who is playing those characters is still yet to be revealed. We did put together a list of the best (and worst) choices for some of the main characters in the games though.

Revealed by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the showrunner for Netflix’s The Witcher series, she tweeted a short thread about some of the characters that will appear in the show, with a few short words to describe how she feels about each one.

So, that’s Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, Roach, Jaskier, Triss Merigold, Cahir, Regis, Vilgefortz, Emhyr, Milva, and Leo Bonhart all making an appearance in some way. Unfortunately, this doesn’t tell us too much about when exactly in the story Netflix’s show will take place, although it’s likely to be early on, following the books rather than the CD Projekt games.

Of course, we’re sure that someone who’s studied the books, games and everything surrounding them both will find some interesting details through the fact that these characters are all together.

Also, yes, that means Hissrich views Geralt’s horse as a character, and rightly so.
