Tom Clancy passes away at age 66. Ubisoft “humbled by the opportunity to carry on part of his legacy”

Author Tom Clancy passed away on Tuesday night, he was 66 years old. His books have been the source of inspiration for a number of game franchises, Rainbow 6, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon are just a few.

Ubisoft have been producing Tom Clancy games for years and, today, offered up a few words to commemorate their relationship with the author.

“We are saddened to learn of Tom Clancy’s passing and our condolences go out to his family,” Ubisoft wrote on their Facebook page. “Tom Clancy was an extraordinary author with a gift for creating detailed, engrossing fictional stories that captivated audiences around the world.

“The teams at Ubisoft, especially at the Red Storm studio, are incredibly grateful to have collaborated with and learned from him, and we are humbled by the opportunity to carry on part of his legacy through our properties that bear his name.”

The next Tom Clancy game to be released will be either The Division or Rainbow 6: Patriots.
