Darrell Gallagher, the studio head of Crystal Dynamics, the devs currently working on the (excellent looking) reboot of Tomb Raider has just released a statement on the growing controversey over a rumoured attempted rape.

Darrell says that the scene in question “is where Lara is forced to kill another human for the first time. In this particular section, while there is a threatening undertone in the sequence and surrounding drama, it never goes any further than the scenes that we have already shown publicly.” He goes on to add that “sexual assault of any kind is categorically not a theme that we cover in this game.”

Here’s the trailer that started the controversy.
