Polygonreports thatthe 1,000 Dreams Fund Twitch BroadcastHER Grant provides “financial assistance to eligible women to help with expenses such as travel to gaming conventions, educational conferences, hardware upgrades, and instructional programs related to creative or artistic pursuits.”

The purpose of the grant is to highlight the gender pay gap women experience in specific fields, particularly in streaming.

The financial grant will be awarded to at least two high school or university students each semester, with each grant offering between $500 and $2,000. However, the grant is only available to female Twitch Affiliates or Partners.

Applications open March 1, with the spring semester deadline being May 1, and the autumn semester deadline being October 1. Applicants need to demonstrate financial need, as well as including an essay in their application explaining how they will use the grant. But if you don’t get accepted, don’t worry as you can re-apply.

In addition, the 1,000 Dreams Fund are hosting a livestream next week to raise awareness of the campaign and shine a spotlight on a number of female streamers. Streams for Dreams will run from March 1 to April 1 in hopes of “raising awareness for the continued gender gap in financial funding for young women in the ever-expanding gaming and broadcasting space.”
