WTF?! Yes, that’s the title of a new mecha action game that came out on Steam Early Access today. Ok, it’s actually called War Tech Fighter, but we’ll call it WTF for short.
WTF is all about controlling the titular War Techs – big robots with lots of weapons – as you fight against the forces of the Zatros empire… in space! Essentially, this game is a good reason to enjoy firing bullets and missiles at bad guys, and if that’s not enough for you, there are swords and shields to swing about too.
A big part of WTF is customising your mech with over 150 upgradeable parts and weapons. So yes, there are a lot more than your basic anti-matter cannons and robotic codpieces to swap out. But you’ll have to unlock them by researching parts over time as well as by playing through the game’s single-player missions (which mixes up action, stealth, and puzzles), the Challenges in the Simulator Bridge, and infinite Survival Mode.
While WTF is only in Early Access there should be plenty to keep you busy. Plus, developers Drakkar Dev will be taking player feedback on board as they bulk the game out over the coming months.
