Relic’s latest installation in the Dawn of War series has been out for almost a week and in that time players have been kept busy. Amidst the carnage of battle, many space marines, eldar and orks have perished, only to be replaced by another piece of digital cannon fodder. Naturally, this cycle of endless destruction has produced some rather beefy statistics.
Our list of the best war games on PC should keep you thoroughly warred up for the forseeable future.
A mighty 176,544,050 units in total have been killed during 889,520 hours of combined gameplay. To put that another way, that’s over 100 years spent battling for the Spear of Khaine! The Blood God will certainly be pleased, especially given that the death count averages out at over 30,000 deaths a minute. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to a brutally poetic Warhammer 40,000 deaths a minute. Of course, none of that matters unless your threads are up to scratch, which is perhaps why 179,111 custom color schemes have been created in the army painter.
Unlockable favourites for each faction have also been announced, these include Weirdboy Zapnoggin who has been summoned 137,843 times, presumably due to his handy ranged attacks which complement the mostly melee ork army. Eldar players have favoured Jain Zar, who’s been deployed 112,895 times. Her high damage and ability to quickly escape have made her a shock troop of choice for many fans of space-faring elves.
