Humble are giving away free copies of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine for free for a limited time. All you need to do is sign up to the Humble newsletter in order to be eligible to claim your new game, but you’ll have to be pretty quick about it.
If you don’t know Space Marine, let me enlighten you. Set in the Warhammer 40K universe, the game puts you in the shoes (and armour) of seasoned veteran Captain Titus. You’re dropped into the middle of a war against an enormous Ork horde who have invaded an Imperial World, and you’ll have to fight to save the planet.
It’s a little like Gears of War via the classic 40K experience, and, for the most part, it’s been pretty well received. First released in 2011, it’s got a MetaCritic score of 74. That in itself isn’t particularly stellar, but you can take some more assurance in the ‘Very Positive’ rating that the game maintains on Steam. Of course, it’s also free, so in my mind at least, it earns some extra points.
In order to claim your free copy you need to head to Humble, and sign up for their store’s newsletter (you’ll need to create an account to do so, if you don’t already have one). Once you’ve done that, you’ll be emailed a Steam key, which you’ll need to redeem by September 15.
The offer is only valid for a little while longer, but you’ve still got more than a day to claim your free game. Just make sure to have signed up by 10:00 PT (18:00 BST) tomorrow, Saturday, September 1. If you’re still not sure, you can check out a trailer for Space Marine in the video above.
