I shan’t be teased like this. I won’t be tickled and taunted and dealt morsels like they’re feasts, and I certainly won’t rise to – ooo. Shiny.
There’s a pretty picture on CD Projekt Red’s site and it looks like something from The Witcher 3.
To be exact, it looks like what Baldur’s Gate has taught me is a pommel – the bit of a sword that stops it slipping from your hand. This pommel’s particularly ornate, and bears the white wolf head of The Witcher’s logo.
“If you are wondering what’s that in that picture above,” winked CD Projekt in a REDkit beta update, “well, we’ll leave it for your imagination to answer.”
This latest nudge follows a hidden message in last week’s Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, which suggested that a Witcher 3 announcement is coming on February 5th. The Witcher sequel is reportedly “much closer to being completed” than Cyberpunk, which is due out in 2015.
“Building open world games is something we are mastering right now, and we believe that properly joining nonlinear gameplay with excellent storytelling will bring a totally new quality,” wrote CD Projekt in their covert note.
An open-world Witcher, eh? What think you to that?
Thanks, IGN.
