WoW: Battle for Azeroth’s last Warbringers short is out now – watch it here

Warbringers: Azshara finishes out the WoW: Battle for Azeroth short series with a look at the Queen of the Naga

August 24, 2018 Warbringers: Azshara is now live.

Azshara, Queen of the Naga, is the star of the third and final episode of the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Warbringers animated shorts. That new animation is out right now, as part of Blizzard’s Gamescom proceedings, and you can watch it for yourself below.

Blizzard teased a little bit of what to expect at a presentation earlier at the conference, setting the stage for Azshara’s starring role. As Blizzard notes, she’s one of the oldest antagonists in Warcraft lore, but she’s only had a fleeting role in World of Warcraft up to this point. Her actions at the Well of Eternity brought forth the Legion on Azeroth, leading to the Great Sundering. Consequently, Blizzard says “there’s a reason we have chosen to star her in the last of our Warbringers series, which we’re extremely proud of.”

The official description asks “What would you do to save a people? For the great queen Azshara, it is within the deeps that she finds what she needs most: opportunity.” That opportunity comes in the form of N’Zoth, one of the Old Gods of Azeroth.

Previous Warbringers shorts have focused on Jaina and Sylvanas – though the latter in particular has offered no shortage of controversy. Blizzard offered an assurance to fans during this presentation that it won’t “do to Sylvanas what happened with Garrosh,” addressing one of the biggest concerns about the story’s direction.
