Blizzard are paying tribute to Robin Williams by seeding small references to his films across World of Warcraft. So far players have tracked down nods to Aladdin, Mrs Doubtfire, Mork, and Toys.
I’ve my fingers crossed for an insomniac psychopath to make an appearance but that might be too much to hope for.
WoWHead have collated all the references found so far. The first was spotted by one of their community, Haldhur. They found that you could summon a cosmic entity called Robin by rubbing the Ever-Burning Lamp, an item that can be found in the new territory included in Warlords of Draenor. After he pops into existence he shouts “Infinite cosmic power. Itty bitty living space.”
Nearby is cracked open egg-like space ship:
Near the downed egg is a collection of discarded toys which refer to the film Toys. You know, the film that kicked off LL Cool J’s illustrious film career.
WoWHead have done a little datamining, too, and discovered that there’s a Mrs Doubtfire model and an NPC that looks suspiciously like Mork, both waiting to be inserted into WoW.
If you’re already in the beta then it’s worth keeping your eye our for any other references that haven’t been spotted yet. Though, remember, if you don’t find them, it’s not your fault.
