XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is out on Tuesday next week. In a celebration and/or canny business decision to drive sales, publishers 2K have approved a free weekend and massive discount on the base game.

The offer is live now, so head over to Steam and get downloading. You’ll be able to play one of the best strategy games in recent years free of charge until late on Sunday. If you like what you see, the discount applies until August 31. At 60% off, it’s substantial, slashing the game’s price to £13.99 or $23.99.
