You’ll never launch alone: Zombie Mod to launch alongside Counter-Strike: Global Offensive next week

Comment

Valve have been back-and-forth on the old development cup-and-string with plaguefest.com, and have managed to get Counter-Strike: Source’s Zombie Mod in fit state for updated release alongside Global Offensive in four days’ time.

“It was important to us as we developed CS:GO to make sure it was as moddable and extensible as any CS game,” say Valve on the CS Blog. “So this is just one of many mods that will be available to CS:GO in the coming months.”

They’re encouraging mod-makers to get in touch, seemingly with an eye cannily steered toward making Global Offensive a hotbed of user-made multiplayer shooters. If they manage it - and they might yet - they’ll increase their install base by a factor of many. Counter-Strike: the mod to launch a thousand mods.
