Do you have an old FF14 account? Are you intrigued by recent developments like the Heavensward expansion and patch 3.1? Then Square Enix are making a move just for you. Folks with 30-days-inactive Final Fantasy 14 accounts will be able to login for a four day period of their choice thoroughout December without any committment to a subscription, letting them check out what’s new, old or anything else.

Have you been reading our Final Fantasy 14 diary? You should be. It’s good.

The rules for elidgibility are fairly simple:

  • Users who have previously purchased and registered FINAL FANTASY XIV.
  • All registered services accounts are set as inactive during the campaign period.
  • Registered service account must have been inactive for at least thirty days.

If that matches up to you, you’ll be able to log in at any point during December, from which point you’ll have the rest of that day and three more full ones to play for free. It will end at midnight on the fourth day your local time, so time appropriately to get max time. This won’t extend into 2016, so don’t leave it too late in the month. You’ll also lose any extra free time you have remaining if you buy a subscription during that time, so make sure to use it all up first. There’s a few more small-print instructions, so check the official news post before you jump in.
