Legend of Dungeon’s long path to version 1.0 is over. It’s now released on Steam as a full-fledged game. There are still updates inbound, namely stretch goal content, but everything from their original pitch is now included. The developers are celebrating by releasing a Legend of Party trailer.

Clearly, potions and apples should be on the list for all party planners from the point onwards.

If that video didn’t quite convey what you’ll be doing in this 2D, co-operative, randomly generated dungeon crawler, this trailer might:

I’ve only played a little of Legend of Dungeon, back when it was in one of its earliest of alphas, but it’s a great way to while away an afternoon. The simple combat and crisp presentation makes it great for playing with a gamepad through your television. Particularly as you can get four players all sharing the same screen.

Other features include:

  • 26 Floors of Randomized Dungeon

  • Tons of Items, Weapons and Magic!

  • Hats, hats, hats!

  • Free Range Boss Monsters with special item drops

  • Random encounter NPC’s to buy from and gamble with etc.

  • Real-Time Beat’em’up style combat

  • 4 Player Cooperative Gameplay (same PC, multiple controllers)

  • Permadeath (with 2+ players, you become a ghost, and collect spirit orbs to resurrect)

  • Randomized Dynamic Music built from 244 tracks

  • Full Controller support

  • Local and Online Score Board

  • Dynamically Shaded Pixel Art and Real-Time Shadows
