Insomnia 49 kicks off today

Insomnia, the UK’s largest gaming festival held in Telford, Shropshire, kicks off its 49th show today. A massive mark on the UK FPS calendar, the Team Fortress 2 tournament will take centre stage over the weekend.

Alongside TF2, there will be competitive matches of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Shootmania, League of Legends, Dota 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and the WCG UK finals of StarCraft 2. You’ll be able to catch them all the Insomnia live stream on Twitch

The festival is held over four days, between 23rd-26th August, and is the largest LAN event in the country. Competitors have battled it out for positions to fight at Insomnia through online trials in the weeks leading up to today, and now they are all present in Telford for the final face-offs. 

You can check out the full schedule on Insomnia’s website, but the big ones to remember are the WCG Starcraft 2 grand final tonight at 21:30, Team Fortress 2 grand final at 16:00 on Sunday, the ESET UK Masters Starcraft 2 grand final at 19:00 on Sunday, and the Dota 2 grand final at 11:00 on Monday.
