Prepare to celebrate: unexpected Minecraft snapshot adds fireworks, brings joy

Comment

Yesterday you may have caught Nathan "Dinnerbone" Adams saying that there were "no plans to release a [Minecraft] snapshot today." Well, looks like that was quite factually correct, as Mojang have still given us a snapshot this week, releasing this today instead. Why? "Thing is," they said on their blog, "we suddenly decided we wanted to make sure that you have fireworks for New Year’s Eve."

So, you'd better head over there and pick it up and don't forget to check out our guide to installing preview snapshots.

Jeb has said that he wants to make the colors, fade, flight height, effects and shapes of these fireworks craftable, and has added that there's no sound for them just yet. Still, fireworks, eh? Fireworks.
