Origin now allows you to gift games, just in time for the Black Friday sales

EA Origin

EA now allow players to gift EA games to their Origin friends, catching up with Steam’s functionality just in time for Christmas. Well, just in time for Origin’s Black Friday sales. Which start today. On a Tuesday.

This list of the best Black Friday PC deals is my gift to you.

You can only currently gift EA content though, so no third-party games. You also can’t gift pre-orders, DLC or virtual currency.

Also worth noting, if you have Origin Access your member’s discount does apply to gifts, so you can use your account to buy a non-Origin Access subbing friend a game they’re after for slightly cheaper.

Here’s how you do it:

  • Find the product you want to gift on the Origin store.
  • Click the button pull-down menu.
  • Select Purchase as a gift.
  • Origin will bring up a list of friends you can send the gift to.
  • If you do not see your friend in the list, try searching for them in the search bar.
  • Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

Credit cards and PayPal are the only payment options for gifting games.

Origin is currently having its Black Friday sale too, so you can pick up Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 for £33.32, The Sims 4 for £16.66, Star Wars Battlefront for £12.49, among many more deals.
