Valve announced they were hard at work on a Linux client only last month but canny members of the Ubuntu development community have discovered that the software is ready to go live “in a few days.”
The spot was made by OMGUbuntu who noticed Valve’sBryceH asking for information about Nvidia compatibility in Linux in an Ubuntu IRC channel:
“Could an archive or SRU admin accept nvidia-common and jockey fromthe upload queue?
These are needed for the Valve Steam release that happensin a few days.”
Valve are releasing a closed beta for 1,000 users to try out first before expanding the beta to moreusers.
