At the EA press conference at E3 last night, Bioware took to the stage to reveal new features coming to The Old Republic. They include an increased level cap, a whole new planet and storyline to explore, and a new space mission.

The new story content sees you taking on the Hutt cartel on a brand new planet called Makeb. “The Hutt Cartel, tired of being ignored by the great powers of the galaxy, has taken Makeb in an attempt to acquire an unmatched power which can bring both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire to their knees,” say Bioware. “It will be up to you and your allies to face off against the Hutt Cartel, breaking their hold on this once tranquil world and end their bid for galactic domination.” You'll also meet a new companion: an HK droid in the mould of Knights of the Old Republic's HK-47. No timeline was given for when the new content would land.

There were also new combat abilities: the trailer included what a Jedi doing a spinning blade flurry, while another kicked some droids in the face. IN THE FACE.

It’s unusual for an MMO to raise it’s level cap without a paid expansion. This feels quite clever from Bioware; a free expansion for the base game. Will you be playing through Makeb?
Here's the trailer.
