The Walking Dead Season 3 new screens show things getting grim for Clem

The Walking Dead Season 3

Telltale’s The Walking Dead continues this year with Season 3, where Clementine will return as an older, more seasoned veteran of the zombie apocalypse. She’ll be joined by Javier, who’ll act as the game’s second playable character, and AJ: a young child who becomes Clem’s charge.

It’s an interesting turn of events for Clem, who as a young child was ‘adopted’ by Season 1’s protagonist Lee Everett. It’s nice to see that story come full circle with Clem looking out for a young and vulnerable person, despite her being only a teenager.

Telltale have revealed a few more details about the season, noting that it acts as both a continuation of the story for long-time players, and an ideal starting point for those new to the series: “Players who are new to the series will have a chance to learn more about Clementine’s backstory, while at the same time, those who have played previous seasons will have a story that’s uniquely tailored to the diverging paths they’ve taken in the past.”

The studio also notes that when playing as Javier, it may not be a simple shift in perspective. You “may not be playing each character within the same frame of time,” suggesting that perhaps sections played as Javier may be flashbacks to his life before meeting Clem.
